Is Your Difficulty Putting Affecting Other Parts of Your Game?

Golf Mental Game

Dr. Patrick Cohn, golf psychology expert and author of the “Golfer’s Mental Edge” CD program, teaches amateur to tour professional golfers how to improve their mental game of golf using golf psychology strategies developed over the last 20 years of his career.

In this week’s golf psychology session, mental game of golf expert and author of The Mental Game of Golf, Dr. Cohn, answers a question from a golfer about how because of his difficulty putting, the rest of his game has been affected.

Tom wrote in and said:

“In the past year my handicap has gone from three to nine and it will probably go much higher. My concern was not in missing the putt but being able to 2-putt from 3-feet. As my putting has gotten worse, so has my ball striking and chipping. I’m now very tense over any chip shot because I’m feeling that if I don’t get the ball close to the hole, there’s no way I’m going to make the putt. And, I used to consider myself to have a solid short game but I’m losing and have lost it altogether.”
